Follow the migration: a website built for NISKA Wingshooting

Arkansas · Missouri · South Dakota · Guided snow goose hunts

Every spring, millions of snow geese push north along the Mississippi and Central flyways, and a small crew out of Arkansas follows them. NISKA Wingshooting runs guided spring snow goose hunts from February through April: Arkansas's Cache Bayou country first, then Missouri as the migration climbs, then South Dakota for the last stand before the tundra. Their old name was Deadly Descent. The new one is the Cree word for goose, and the site we built had to live up to it.

One migration, three pages

A hunter planning a March trip searches for Missouri snow goose hunts, not for an outfitter's home page. So huntniska.com gives each state its own page with that leg's dates, pricing, lodging situation, and the questions people ask before they book. Arkansas is all-inclusive with the lodge and meals or hunt-only; Missouri and South Dakota are hunt-only with pointers to nearby lodging. Each page carries structured data describing the service and the area, which is how search engines and AI assistants learn what NISKA does and where.

Booking the way an outfitter actually works

Outfitters don't sell fixed slots from a calendar. They build trips around a group. The site respects that with an inquire-to-book flow: tell us your group size, dates, and state, and the owner calls you back, usually the same day. Call and text buttons sit next to the form for people who would rather just talk. Inquiries land in a simple CRM so nothing falls through during the busiest six weeks of the year.

Keep the hunt on the wall

NISKA also runs Fowler's Choice Taxidermy, so a bird worth keeping goes from the strap to the wall without a second phone call. It gets its own page and its own place in the schema, because taxidermy searches are a different audience from hunt searches and both deserve a clean answer.

Built to rank, not just to look good

The design is monochrome and quiet on purpose; the photos and the story carry it. Underneath, every page has a canonical URL, descriptive titles, FAQ markup, and a sitemap, and the veteran discount and the name story are written into the copy where a person, or a search engine, would look for them. It's the same playbook we use for contractors and service companies: say clearly what you do and where, in a form machines can read, then let the work speak.
